NORTH AMERICA: Congress Launches Probe into K-12 Antisemitism

The US House Committee on Education and the Workforce has formally launched a sweeping investigation into three major public school districts: Berkeley Unified (CA), Fairfax County (VA), and the School District of Philadelphia (PA). As reported by the Washington Post, Committee Chair Tim Walberg stated these districts have allegedly failed to protect Jewish students from severe harassment.

The investigation cites shocking allegations. In Berkeley, students reportedly marched through hallways chanting "Kill the Jews." In Fairfax, Jewish students were subjected to "Heil Hitler" salutes and had coins thrown at them. In Philadelphia, the committee alleges that curriculum materials were used to rationalize terrorism against Israel. According to committee documents, these districts must now hand over internal communications to determine if they violated Title VI civil rights protections.

This is the poisoning of the well. When the educational system—designed to nurture the minds of children—becomes a breeding ground for hate, we are looking at a generational crisis. These are not just "bullies"; this is institutionalized indoctrination. We must advocate strongly and support these children, who are the most vulnerable.
