About the Course

The Prophets: Voices of Judgment & Redemption

Welcome to The Prophets (Ne’viim), the second pillar of the TENACH series.

If the Torah is the "Constitution" of the Jewish people, the Prophets are the "Supreme Court Justices" and the "Divine Prosecutors."

Many misunderstand the Prophets as mere fortune tellers who predicted the future. In this course, we correct that view. We study the Nevi'im—the men and women who carried the heavy burden of God's word. They were the moral conscience of the nation, sent to demand justice, warn of consequences, and—most importantly—to draft the blueprints for the Final Redemption.

In this course, we bridge the gap between common external interpretations and the profound, multi-layered reality of the text. From the conquest of Joshua to the weeping of Jeremiah and the mystical visions of Ezekiel, we reveal the essential Jewish themes of repentance, justice, and the ultimate return to Zion.

Course Objectives

  • Trace the Chain of Command: Follow the shift in leadership from Moses to Joshua, through the anarchy of the Judges, to the establishment of the Monarchy under David and Solomon.

  • Define True Prophecy: Differentiate between the authentic messengers of God—who often delivered unpopular warnings—and the false prophets who flattered the people with empty promises of peace.

  • Decode the End Times: Systematically study the vivid prophecies concerning the ultimate redemption, including the "Two Sticks" (reunification of Judah and Ephraim), the Third Temple, and the War of Gog u'Magog.

  • Unpack the Esoteric: Delve into the complex metaphors of the prophets, such as Ezekiel’s vision of the Divine Chariot (Maaseh Merkava) and the spiritual mechanics of how God communicates with man.

What You Will Learn

  • The Former Prophets (History as Prophecy): How the books of Joshua, Judges, Samuel, and Kings set the pattern for all of Jewish history.

  • The Core of Moral Living: How the prophets condensed the 613 commandments into essential moral principles (e.g., Micah’s "Do justice, love kindness, and walk humbly").

  • The Power of Teshuvah: Understanding Hosea’s revolutionary teaching that God accepts the "offering of our lips" (prayer and repentance) in place of animal sacrifices.

  • The "Minor" Prophets: Why the "Twelve" (Trei Asar) are only minor in length, not importance—featuring Jonah’s mercy, Obadiah’s judgment of Edom, and Malachi’s final word.

Who Should Enroll

  • Students of "The Final Season": You cannot fully understand the End of Days (Course 1) without mastering the source texts of Zechariah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah.

  • Bible Believers & Lovers of Zion: Christians and non-Jews who want to respect the text by understanding the Jewish people's authentic beliefs about the Word of God.

  • Baalei Teshuva, Noahides & Converts: Those returning to their roots who need a structured, mature understanding of the later biblical texts.
